Safari Lodge is set to reopen on 5 January 2027 after renovation, with eight Elephant Suites along a dry riverbed and a treehouse-style Hide Suite raised over the hippo lake, plus a three-bedroom Hide option for families sharing one living area. No nightly rate is published ahead of reopening; the site runs enquiry links only. Ulusaba states its own traversing figure directly, about 13,355 hectares of open bush within Sabi Sand, and the property has its own private airstrip rather than sharing a neighbour's.

Rates and fees come from each lodge's own website, read 16 September 2026, cross-checked against the Sabi Sand Wildtuin's own published Guest Conservation Contribution and access fees at sabisand.co.za (the landowners' association, spelled without an 's') and against a reserve overview compiled the same day. Two booking-agent microsites, sabisands.com and sabisands.co.za (both spelled with an 's', unrelated to the association), were checked for cross-reference only and are not used as a source for any rate or levy figure. Ulusaba's own site quotes no nightly rate for its three lodges, so those are recorded as rates on request. Sabi Sabi and MalaMala are not on the Sabi Sand Wildtuin's own lodge list, and neither states whether the reserve's own conservation contribution applies to a stay there; both maintain their own separate levy or none at all, as noted lodge by lodge.

When is Safari Lodge open?
It is currently closed for renovation. Ulusaba's own site gives 5 January 2027 as the reopening date for Safari Lodge, with bookings for a 2027 stay already open. No nightly rate is published ahead of that date, so confirm current terms directly with Ulusaba.
Is Safari Lodge good for families?
Not for young children. Ulusaba's own site states plainly that Safari Lodge cannot accommodate children under 12, unlike Rock Lodge, which welcomes kids of all ages. Guests 12 and over are welcome throughout, including in the three-bedroom Hide suite, which suits families with older children or a group of friends.
What does a stay at Safari Lodge include?
Ulusaba's site does not publish a nightly rate or inclusions list for Safari Lodge ahead of its 5 January 2027 reopening. Each of its suites has a private plunge pool, and communal areas include a swimming pool and spa, but confirm exact package details once bookings open fully.
Can you self-drive to Safari Lodge?
