Bush Lodge is Sabi Sabi's largest property, 21 Luxury Suites and three named villas on what the operator itself calls the Sabie Game Reserve, a name and a levy system separate from the Sabi Sand Wildtuin next door. Rates run R29,600 per person sharing across both the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 seasons, unchanged year to year, with drives, walks, meals and most drinks included. On top sits Sabi Sabi's own SGR Conservation Levy, R450 per person per night rising to R495 in 2027-2028. The operator's own traversing figure across all four lodges is 5,400 hectares.

Sabi Sabi's seasons run March to February rather than the calendar year. 2026-2027 season (1 Mar 2026-28 Feb 2027): R29,600 per person sharing for a Luxury Suite. 2027-2028 season (1 Mar 2027-29 Feb 2028): the same R29,600, unchanged. A Luxury Villa (4 guests, extra guests charged the standard per-person rate) is a separate whole-unit rate at R149,000 a night in both seasons. VAT included. Converted at 1 USD = 16.35 ZAR on 23 September 2026, R29,600 is about $1,811. On top of the room rate: the SGR Conservation Levy, R450 per person per night for 2026-2027, R495 for 2027-2028.

Rates and fees come from each lodge's own website, read 16 September 2026, cross-checked against the Sabi Sand Wildtuin's own published Guest Conservation Contribution and access fees at sabisand.co.za (the landowners' association, spelled without an 's') and against a reserve overview compiled the same day. Two booking-agent microsites, sabisands.com and sabisands.co.za (both spelled with an 's', unrelated to the association), were checked for cross-reference only and are not used as a source for any rate or levy figure. Ulusaba's own site quotes no nightly rate for its three lodges, so those are recorded as rates on request. Sabi Sabi and MalaMala are not on the Sabi Sand Wildtuin's own lodge list, and neither states whether the reserve's own conservation contribution applies to a stay there; both maintain their own separate levy or none at all, as noted lodge by lodge.
Questions about Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge
Is Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge good for families?
Yes. Sabi Sabi's own FAQ says Bush Lodge is the only one of its four lodges that welcomes children of any age without an exclusive-use booking. It runs a free EleFun Centre for ages 4 to 12, split into Junior Trackers and Junior Rangers, plus child-friendly meals and paid child-minding. The other three lodges only take under-13s if the whole camp is booked out.
Can you self-drive to Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge?
Yes, as far as the gate. Sabi Sabi's own directions put the reserve about 500 kilometres, roughly five hours, from Johannesburg via Shaws Gate, 38 kilometres from Hazyview. Inside the reserve this is private land, so guests travel in lodge vehicles with a ranger rather than driving themselves around; Bush Lodge's own page does not list an airstrip, though Sabi Sabi's shared airstrip serves all four lodges.
What does the rate at Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge include?
The quoted rate covers guided game drives, walks, meals and most drinks, per the lodge's own description. On top sits Sabi Sabi's SGR Conservation Levy, R450 per person per night for the 2026-2027 season and R495 for 2027-2028, plus a 15% surcharge from 20 December to 5 January. Spa treatments and premium drinks are billed separately.
Is Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge good for a honeymoon?
Not especially. Bush Lodge's own page does not name a dedicated honeymoon suite; its three villas, Mahlatini, Tumbela and Mandleve, are built for families, each sleeping two adults and two children with its own vehicle and guide. Couples after a named honeymoon suite should ask about Selati Camp's Lourenco Marques Honeymoon Suite instead.
When is Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge open?
Sabi Sabi's own FAQ says the reserve can be visited all year round, but Bush Lodge's own page does not give this lodge a separate opening season or closure dates. The operator recommends a three to four night stay to make use of the drives, walks and spa, though that is advice rather than a booking rule.
